This 5-day private Turkey tour links Istanbul, Ephesus and Pamukkale in a single, well-paced trip, with a guide who accompanies only you and your companions on each sightseeing day. Domestic flights handle the long distances, leaving more of your time for the places themselves.
Five days is enough to see three very different sides of the country. In Istanbul you meet the imperial capital of the Byzantines and Ottomans; at Ephesus you walk through a Roman provincial city; at Pamukkale you find a hillside of white mineral terraces with the ruins of Hierapolis above. Flying between Istanbul and the Aegean replaces what would otherwise be long hours on the road.
Because the tour is private, the commentary is aimed at your party alone. Children can ask as many questions as they like, history enthusiasts can go deeper at Topkapi or the Library of Celsus, and nobody waits for a large group to gather before moving on. The programme, hotels, flights and meals are exactly those of the published itinerary.
Day 1 starts with a personal welcome at Istanbul airport and a transfer to your boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, the historic old town, where the great monuments are close at hand. The rest of the day is free. On Day 2 your guide meets you at 9:00 for a full day on foot through Istanbul: the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and finally the Grand Bazaar.
Day 3 begins early with a one-hour flight to Izmir. Our team drives you to the Selçuk office, and at 9:30 the guided day in Ephesus begins, taking in the Temple of Artemis, the amphitheatre, the Library of Celsus, the city’s paved streets and the House of the Virgin Mary. That night you stay in Selçuk or KuÅŸadası.
On Day 4 you leave at 8:30 for Pamukkale, about three hours away, and have lunch on arrival. Your guide brings Hierapolis to life, from the Temple of Apollo and the Roman theatre to the Martyrion of St Philip, before free time on the travertines and the chance to swim in Cleopatra’s Pool. A one-hour flight then returns you to Istanbul, where we meet you and take you to your hotel. On Day 5 you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
Included are domestic flights between Istanbul and Izmir with taxes, the airport transfers in the itinerary, three days of private touring with guide, transport, lunch and entrance fees, three nights in a boutique hotel in Istanbul and one night in a 4-star hotel in Kuşadası or Selçuk, all with breakfast. Vegetarian meals are available. Dinner, drinks and tips are not included.

As you come through arrivals at Istanbul airport, a member of our team greets you personally and accompanies you to your boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, the historic heart of the city. With the main landmarks only a short distance away, it makes a convenient base for the days ahead. Once you have checked in, the rest of the day is yours, whether you prefer to rest after the journey or take a first stroll around the neighbourhood. Overnight in Istanbul.
Your guide calls for you at the hotel at 9:00 and devotes the whole day to the old city on foot. You stand in the Hippodrome, once the stage for chariot races, visit the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya), tour Topkapi Palace, seat of the Ottoman sultans for centuries, and end among the lanes of the Grand Bazaar. With the guide focused only on your party, there is time for questions at every stop. You then return to the hotel for a free evening and overnight in Istanbul.
An early pick-up takes you to the airport for the one-hour flight to Izmir, where our team meets you and drives you to our office in Selçuk. The full-day guided visit starts at 9:30. You see the remains of the Temple of Artemis, counted among the ancient world's Seven Wonders, the amphitheatre, the Library of Celsus and the remarkably intact streets of the ancient city, followed by the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally held to be her last home. At the end of the day you are taken to your hotel in Selçuk or Kuşadası.
After breakfast you check out and are collected at 8:30 for the drive of about three hours to Pamukkale, arriving around noon for lunch. Your guide then shows you Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, explaining how its people lived, worked and relaxed; key sights include the Temple of Apollo, the Roman theatre and the Martyrion of St Philip. Free time follows on the white travertines, with the chance to swim in Cleopatra's Pool. Finally you are driven to the airport for the one-hour flight to Istanbul, where our team meets you and takes you to your hotel.
Depending on your flight time, we collect you from the hotel and take you to the airport. If your flight leaves later in the day, you could make use of the spare hours with a half-day tour of the city or a cruise on the Bosphorus; both are optional and not part of the package. This is where our services end.
