This 5-day private Istanbul and Cappadocia tour brings together Turkey’s great historic city and its most extraordinary landscape, with a guide who looks after your party alone. Return flights between the two keep travel time short, and the nights are split between a boutique hotel in Sultanahmet and a cave hotel in Cappadocia.
Istanbul and Cappadocia make a natural pairing for a first visit to Turkey. One is a city of domes, palaces and markets shaped by successive empires; the other is a high plateau of soft volcanic rock carved by wind, water and generations of people into valleys, chimneys and cave churches.
On a private tour, your guide’s time and attention belong to your party. In Hagia Sophia you can ask about Byzantine mosaics; in the rock-cut churches of Göreme, about the communities that painted them; in Avanos, about the potters who still work the local red clay. Nobody is waiting for a crowd to gather at the next stop. The itinerary, flights, hotels and meals are exactly as in the published programme.
You are met at Istanbul airport on Day 1 and driven to your boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, with the rest of the day free. Day 2 is a full guided walk around the old city from 9:00, taking in Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar.
On Day 3 you fly to Cappadocia for the southern route: Uçhisar Castle, the region’s highest point; Rose Valley (Kızılçukur), with its reddish rock, cave dwellings and 5th-century churches along a 3.5 km trail; ÇavuĹźin, one of the earliest Christian settlements; and Love Valley, also called White Valley. You spend the night in a cave boutique hotel.
Day 4 can start at 5:30 with an optional hot air balloon flight, landing around 7:30. After breakfast, the northern route begins at 9:30 with Göreme Panorama and the Göreme Open-Air Museum, followed by lunch in Avanos and a pottery demonstration where you can try the wheel. ÇavuĹźin, Devrent Valley with its Camel Rock, PaĹźabaÄź (Monks Valley) with St Simeon’s cell and the Three Beauties near ĂśrgĂĽp complete the day, before your one-hour flight back to Istanbul and a transfer to your hotel. On Day 5 we take you to the airport in good time for your flight, or arrange additional nights at your hotel if you would like to stay longer.
Included are flights from Istanbul to Cappadocia and back with taxes, the airport transfers in the itinerary, three days of private touring with guide, lunch, transport and entrance fees, three nights in an Istanbul boutique hotel and one night in an S-class cave boutique hotel, all with breakfast, plus full travel insurance. Vegetarian meals are available. Dinner, drinks and tips are not included, and the balloon flight is optional and not among the inclusions.

Our team meets you at Istanbul airport and drives you to your boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, right in the historic centre. The city's best-known monuments are within walking distance, which makes the next day's tour easy to reach on foot. After check-in, the time is yours: wander the surrounding streets or simply recover from the journey. It is a gentle first introduction to a city of remarkable cultural depth. Overnight in Istanbul.
At 9:00 your guide meets you at the hotel for a full day on foot through historic Istanbul. You begin with the vast interior of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, famous for its architecture, then continue to the Hippodrome, the centre of public life in Byzantine times. Next comes Topkapi Palace, from where the Ottoman sultans ruled, and finally the Grand Bazaar, among the oldest covered markets in the world. At the end of the day your guide accompanies you back to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
After the flight from Istanbul, a full day among Cappadocia's rock landscapes and cave villages begins. The first stop is Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region and once a defensive stronghold, with wide views all around. Next is Rose Valley (Kızılçukur), where a trail of about 3.5 km passes reddish rock, cave dwellings and churches cut in the 5th century. You then visit Çavuşin, among the earliest Christian settlements, home to a 3rd-century church and partly collapsed after a landslide in 1960, before ending at Love Valley (White Valley) and its fairy chimneys. Overnight in a cave hotel.
If you have chosen the optional hot air balloon flight, pick-up is at 5:30 and landing around 7:30, followed by breakfast at the hotel. At 9:30 the northern route begins: Göreme Panorama with Uçhisar Castle behind, then the rock-cut churches and frescoes of the Göreme Open-Air Museum. Lunch is in Avanos, where a pottery workshop demonstrates the craft and invites you to try the wheel. The afternoon brings Çavuşin, Devrent Valley and its Camel Rock, Paşabağ (Monks Valley) with St Simeon's cell, and the Three Beauties near Ürgüp. A one-hour flight returns you to Istanbul, where you are transferred to your hotel.
On the final day we collect you from your hotel at a time that suits your flight and take you to the airport. If you would rather stay longer in Istanbul, additional nights can be arranged at your hotel on request. Either way, your journey ends calmly and in the way that best fits your plans.
