About this tour

This Göcek gulet cruise suits travellers who want a relaxed week of swimming and island-hopping in sheltered water: you book a cabin on a luxury gulet and sail 8 days and 7 nights from Fethiye and back. After Butterfly Valley, the Blue Lagoon and St Nicholas Island, most of the week is spent in the Gulf of Göcek, from Cleopatra’s Bath to the Yassıca Islands.

The gulet is in the luxury class, with Master and Superior cabins, round-the-clock air conditioning where port rules allow, daily housekeeping and en-suite bathrooms. A full-board luxury menu, soft drinks, water, towels, beach towels and bathrobes are included, plus a welcome cocktail and champagne.

Expect short sailing legs between quiet anchorages, sunken Roman ruins, Lycian rock tombs, a painted fish mural at Bedri Rahmi Bay and an afternoon among the marinas of Göcek, ending with a beach club stop before you return to Fethiye.

Itinerary

Boarding starts at 16:00 in Fethiye, so you have time beforehand to see the harbour town and its bazaars. The first stop is Boncuklu Bay, a quiet bay west of Fethiye with clear water and a beach club, where water sports are possible. You spend the night at Boncuklu Bay. Meals on board: dinner.

The day starts with a morning swim at Butterfly Valley, a valley closed in by cliffs where rare butterfly species can be seen in season. You then cruise to the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz, whose calm water is good for water sports or sunbathing. In the afternoon you reach St Nicholas Island (Gemiler Island), rich in Byzantine history and said to hold the original tomb of St Nicholas. Walk through the ruins or watch the sunset from the hilltop; the gulet anchors here for the night. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

You sail into the Gulf of Göcek to Ağa Limanı, made up of two smaller bays with very clean water fed by underwater springs and the ancient ruins of Lydia nearby. Later you visit Cleopatra's Bath in Hamam Bay, where legend says Mark Antony built a Roman bath for Cleopatra as a wedding gift. Swim over the sunken ruins framed by pine-covered hills. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

In the morning the gulet goes to Sarsala Bay, south of Dalaman, with green hills and calm water for swimming, snorkelling and diving. In the afternoon you sail to Bedri Rahmi Bay, named after the Turkish artist and poet whose fish mural marks the entrance. Look for the Lycian rock tombs in the cliffs or enjoy the view from the deck. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

Merdivenli Bay is lined with olive groves and pines, and a small village nearby sells local honey and homemade jams. After a slow morning you sail to Domuz Island, also called Prince Island, once home to wild boar and now a quiet place with hidden ruins and the clear water of Aquarium Bay for snorkelling. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

Zeytin Island, south of the Yassıca Islands, still has an old olive-processing mill that shows how life used to be here. You continue to the Yassıca Islands, a cluster of uninhabited islets for swimming and exploring, and in the afternoon visit Göcek with its marinas and waterfront restaurants. The Yassıca Islands are the last stop of the day. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

After breakfast you sail to Kızıl Island, known for its red-tinted sand and a lighthouse that makes a good photo stop; it is a fine place for a last swim. In the afternoon you visit So Beach, a beach club in Boncuklu Bay with music, cocktails and sun loungers. The gulet returns to Fethiye harbour around 16:00, leaving the evening free for the town's restaurants and nightlife. Meals on board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fruit, and dinner.

After breakfast you disembark in Fethiye at 09:00, with time to explore Paspatur Bazaar and the town's cafés if you stay on. Meals on board: breakfast.
