This Fethiye diving cruise is a week-long trip made for divers: you sail from Fethiye on Saturday, dive two or three times most days around the Gulf of Fethiye and Göcek, and return to Fethiye on Day 7. At least 14 dives are included, among them a night dive, and beginners can make a discovery dive.
The sites range from reefs and walls to caves and tunnels. At Kabak Bay experienced divers swim through a 60-metre tunnel with fragile corals and an unidentified aircraft engine lying at about 11–12 metres; the New Caves near Ağa Limanı include a real cave with stalactites; Peksimet and the Nar Islands are known for colourful walls, good visibility and the chance of seahorses and turtles. Divers are grouped by level and paired with a buddy before the first dive.
Between dives there is time to swim, walk ashore and visit places such as Gemiler Island, Butterfly Valley, the ruins of Lydai and the Lycian rock tombs at Bedri Rahmi Bay. Training and certification courses can also be arranged on board.
Plan more of your trip: things to do in Fethiye · blue cruises and packages · hire a private gulet
The gulet leaves Fethiye harbour between 12:00 and 13:00 and anchors at a suitable spot for a check dive. Divers are grouped by level, choose a buddy and make a first dive of about 45–50 minutes. The night is spent at Turunçpınarı Bay, where you can swim, go ashore or paddle a canoe, and walkers can join an evening hike of about an hour. Lunch, afternoon tea, fruit and dinner are served.
An early dive at 07:30 is offered before breakfast. The second dive is at the Great Reef or the Small Reef, followed by lunch at Dalyan Creek or Gökçe Bay, and the last dive is at İblis Cape. The gulet then anchors off Gemiler Island, where you can walk among Byzantine churches, water cisterns and ruins and watch the sunset.
The Kabak Bay dive is for experienced divers only: a tunnel about 60 metres long, 5–20 metres wide and 5–8 metres high, home to fragile corals that must not be touched, rocklings and cave shrimps. Beyond the exit, at 11–12 metres, lies an aircraft engine whose origin is unknown. The boat then sails to Butterfly Valley for a swim, lunch and an optional walk to the waterfall; the butterflies can be hard to spot in summer. The evening anchorage is Soğuksu Bay, with a hiking option to Kayaköy.
The morning dives are at the New Caves, a site opened in 2004 with two caves: the first shaped like a half cylinder, the second a true cave with shrimps, cold water and stalactites, reachable at around 17 metres. Dives of 20–25 metres into the cave are possible; the second cave should not be entered without a guide and a torch is essential. After lunch there is another dive at İblis Cape, then the gulet anchors at Ağa Limanı, with a hiking option to the ancient settlement of Lydai.
Dives at Peksimet Island, an untouched site where currents can be strong depending on the weather and where anthias colour the wall pink, and at the Nar Islands, known for good visibility, colourful walls and frequent sightings of seahorses and turtles. The boat then calls at Göcek for supplies and a short look around, before anchoring at Bedri Rahmi Bay in the evening, where you can visit Lycian rock tombs.
Daytime dives in the Afkule and Sarıyarlar area. At Sarıyarlar, experienced divers usually enter from the boat at the mouth of the bay and swim through caves and tunnels with the shore on their left, finishing at the beach. In the evening the gulet anchors at Aquarium Bay for the night dive.
No dive is normally planned on the last morning, but one can be arranged for those who have time. Breakfast is served and the gulet sails back to Fethiye harbour at 11:00.
Gulet of about 32 metres with 7 air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom, for up to 14 guests. Cabins are double, twin or private; there are no shared cabins. Free Wi-Fi on board.
Make your own way to Fethiye harbour. The gulet departs between 12:00 and 13:00 on Day 1 and returns to Fethiye harbour on Day 7, leaving the last anchorage at 11:00.
