This 9 day Jordan tour is for travellers who want to see all of Jordan’s classic sights and still have time to rest. Starting and ending at Amman airport, it travels from Roman Jerash and Ajloun in the north, down the King’s Highway via Madaba, Mount Nebo and Kerak to Petra and Little Petra, then to Wadi Rum and Aqaba on the Red Sea, before returning north to the Baptism Site, the Dead Sea and As-Salt.
What sets this itinerary apart is its unhurried finish: after a week of sightseeing you spend two nights at the Dead Sea, including a whole free day to float, relax and use the resort’s facilities. The last stop is As-Salt, a UNESCO-listed hill town, followed by free time for shopping in Amman.
The eight nights are spread over Amman, Petra, a Wadi Rum desert camp, Aqaba and the Dead Sea, with breakfast and dinner every day as listed.

Head north to Jerash, ancient Gerasa and one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the Middle East, where Hadrian's Arch, the Oval Plaza, the colonnaded street and the Temple of Artemis await. Ajloun Castle follows, raised in 1184 by a commander of Salah ad-Din to keep watch over the Jordan Valley. In Amman, explore the Citadel with the Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace, then the Roman Theatre and the old markets downtown. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Breakfast, Dinner)
In Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics', the Church of St. George holds a 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. From Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, a clear day shows the Jordan Valley, Jericho and Jerusalem. Follow the King's Highway to Kerak Castle, one of the largest Crusader castles in the region, high above the Dead Sea valley, and continue to Petra for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Spend the day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A short horse ride leads to the Siq, which you walk to the Treasury before continuing past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs; early morning and late afternoon bring the best light. In the afternoon, visit Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a smaller Nabataean settlement with carved façades and a painted ceiling. Then continue to a Wadi Rum desert camp for a Bedouin-style dinner, traditional music and a night under the desert sky. (Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast at the camp, a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour reveals Wadi Rum, the 'Valley of the Moon': sandstone and granite mountains, red dunes, natural arches and rock inscriptions left by the Nabataeans and earlier peoples. Continue to Aqaba on the Red Sea for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Travel north along the Dead Sea Highway to the Baptism Site, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John the Baptist lived and baptised Jesus (John 1:28). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Christian pilgrimage places in Jordan. Continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at more than 400 metres below sea level, where the dense, salty water keeps you afloat and the mineral-rich mud is famous. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea. (Breakfast, Dinner)
A day entirely at your own pace: relax, float in the water and enjoy your resort's facilities. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Drive to As-Salt, a hill town of honey-coloured limestone houses that UNESCO inscribed in 2021 as a place of tolerance and urban hospitality. Continue to Amman, where you have free time for shopping. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Breakfast, Dinner)
