If you would like to settle into Jordan before heading into the Holy Land, this nine-day Holy Land pilgrimage from Amman is the relaxed choice. It suits church groups and individual Christian travellers alike: two nights in Amman come first, with a panoramic city tour and a day at Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea, and then you cross King Hussein Bridge for two nights in Galilee and four in Bethlehem.
In Galilee the program covers the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum and a boat ride on the lake, followed by Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor and Nain. On the way south you stop at Mount Carmel, Caesarea Maritima and Jaffa, and this itinerary also includes Bethany and the Tomb of Lazarus before you reach Bethlehem.
From Bethlehem you spend separate days in Hebron and at the Church of the Nativity, on the Mount of Olives and Mount Zion, and inside Jerusalem’s Old City, with an hour of prayer at Gethsemane and communion and prayer at the Garden Tomb. The journey closes at the Baptism Site on the Jordan River before your transfer to the airport.
