About this tour

This 8 day Jordan and Holy Land tour is made for Christian pilgrims and travellers who want to walk through the Gospel story in one well-paced trip, beginning and ending at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Day one covers Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea, and the next morning you cross King Hussein Bridge for two nights in Galilee and four nights in Bethlehem.

Choosing this version means less time on the road at the end of each day: with Bethlehem as your base for the second half, the Shepherds’ Field and the Church of the Nativity are on your doorstep, and Hebron, the Mount of Olives, Mount Zion and the Old City of Jerusalem are each given a day of their own. Around the Sea of Galilee you visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha and Capernaum, enjoy a boat ride and a lunch of St. Peter’s fish, then continue to Nazareth, Cana and Mount Tabor.

Moments for reflection are built into the route: an hour of prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane and time for communion and prayer at the Garden Tomb. On the final morning you visit the Baptism Site on the Jordan River before returning across the bridge to the airport.

Itinerary

Our representative welcomes you at Queen Alia International Airport. Your first stop is Madaba and its mosaic map of the Holy Land, followed by Mount Nebo, the summit from which Moses looked out over the Promised Land. The day ends at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where you can float on the water. Dinner and overnight in Jordan.

Cross King Hussein Bridge into the Holy Land and head north to the Mount of Beatitudes. At Tabgha you see the Church of the Multiplication and the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter, then continue to Capernaum. Lunch is St. Peter's fish, after which you take a boat out on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Galilee.

Begin with a view of Caesarea Philippi on the Golan Heights. After lunch, Nazareth's Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph's Church and Nazareth village are on the program, then Cana and its Wedding Church. The day continues to Mount Tabor, the Mount of the Transfiguration, and the village of Nain. Dinner and overnight in Galilee.

After checking out, drive to Mount Carmel for the Cave of Elijah and the site linked with the prophets of Baal, looking out over the plain of Megiddo (Armageddon) and the gardens of Haifa. Following lunch, enjoy a panoramic visit of Caesarea Maritima, then travel by way of Tel Aviv to Jaffa. Check in at your Bethlehem hotel for dinner and the first of four nights.

Travel through Halhul to Hebron, where the visit takes place subject to permission, to see the tombs of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca. Next come King Solomon's Pools and David's Well. In the afternoon, after lunch, visit the Shepherds' Field and the Church of the Nativity. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Spend the morning on the Mount of Olives at the Chapel of the Ascension and the Pater Noster Church, with a panorama of Jerusalem. Follow the Palm Sunday road down to the Garden and Church of Gethsemane, where an hour is set aside for prayer, and continue to the Pool of Siloam. After lunch, Mount Zion brings the Upper Room, the Tomb of King David and St. Peter in Gallicantu, the House of Caiaphas. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

A full day inside the Old City. Enter by the Dung Gate into the Jewish Quarter for the Western Wall and the Temple Mount area, then visit St. Anne's Church and the Pool of Bethesda. Walk part of the Via Dolorosa as far as the eighth station. After lunch, the Garden Tomb offers time for communion and prayer. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.

Visit the Baptism Site on the Jordan River, then drive to King Hussein Bridge. After crossing the border you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.
