This six-day Jordan pilgrimage tour is designed for pilgrims and history lovers who want a calmer pace and a proper day in Petra. It begins and ends at Amman airport and moves from the north of the country, with Jerash, Anjara and Umm Qais, to the Jordan Valley and the Baptism Site, then south along the route of Madaba, Mount Nebo, Mukawir and Umm ar-Rasas to Petra.
Unlike our five-day biblical program, you spend a night in Petra, so after a day of biblical sites on the way south you wake up close to the rose-red city and have a full day there before returning to Amman. The Baptism Site also gets its own day, together with the Hill of Elijah and time at the Dead Sea.
The final morning is kept for a walk through Amman: the old town, the Roman Theatre, the Citadel and the downtown markets. You stay three nights in Amman, one night in Petra and a last night in Amman, with breakfast and dinner each day as shown in the itinerary.

Our representative meets you at Amman airport and helps you through arrival formalities. Transfer to your hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.
Discover Jerash, ancient Gerasa, from Hadrian's Arch and the Oval Plaza to the colonnaded street and the Temple of Artemis. At Anjara, the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain marks a cave where, as tradition tells, Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary rested while travelling; it is one of Jordan's official Christian pilgrimage sites. Continue to Umm Qais, ancient Gadara, a Decapolis city connected with the Gospel account of the healing of the demoniacs, with views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Visit the Baptism Site, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John the Baptist lived and baptised Jesus (John 1:28). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Jordan's most important places of Christian pilgrimage. Nearby, the Hill of Elijah (Tell Mar Elias) is traditionally associated with the prophet's ascent to heaven. Then relax at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at more than 400 metres below sea level, where the salt keeps you afloat. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Head south through Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics', and its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George, then up to Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, with views over the Jordan Valley towards Jericho and Jerusalem. At Mukawir, the hilltop fortress of Machaerus, Herod Antipas imprisoned John the Baptist (Matthew 14:3–11); the site looks out across the Dead Sea. Continue to Umm ar-Rasas, ancient Kastron Mefa'a, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for the mosaic floor of the Church of St. Stephen, and on to Petra for dinner and overnight.
Spend the day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After a short horse ride, walk through the Siq to the Treasury and on past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs. Early morning and late afternoon offer the best light. Drive back to Amman for dinner and overnight.
