This six-day Jerash and Petra tour is designed for travellers who like a settled base: four of your five nights are in Amman, and you leave the capital for just one night at a desert camp in Wadi Rum. From Amman airport, you see Jerash, Ajloun and Amman on day two, Petra and Wadi Rum on day three, and Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea on day five.
Day four is the jeep tour in Wadi Rum followed by the drive back to Amman, and day five combines the mosaics of Madaba, the view from Mount Nebo and time to float in the Dead Sea before returning to the same hotel city. It is a comfortable way to cover Jordan’s main sights with less packing.
Breakfast and dinner are included as shown in the program, and our representative assists you at Amman airport on both arrival and departure.

Travel north to Jerash, ancient Gerasa, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the Middle East, with Hadrian's Arch, the Oval Plaza, the colonnaded street and the Temple of Artemis. Continue to Ajloun Castle, which a commander of Salah ad-Din built in 1184 to guard the Jordan Valley. Back in Amman, tour the Citadel with its Temple of Hercules and Umayyad Palace, then the Roman Theatre and the old markets downtown. Dinner and overnight in Amman. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Head south for a full day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After a short horse ride, walk through the Siq to the Treasury and continue past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs, ideally in the soft light of early morning or late afternoon. Then continue to a desert camp in Wadi Rum for a Bedouin-style dinner, traditional music and a night under the desert sky. (Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast at the camp, explore Wadi Rum, the 'Valley of the Moon', on a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour among sandstone and granite mountains, red dunes, natural arches and ancient rock inscriptions left by the Nabataeans and earlier peoples. Visit Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics', and the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. At Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, look across the Jordan Valley towards Jericho and Jerusalem.
