This 5 day Jordan Islamic tour is for Muslim travellers who want to see the main sites of early Islamic history in Jordan while staying in one hotel. You arrive at Amman airport, spend all four nights in Amman and travel out each day: to the Jordan Valley and its shrines, south to Mu’tah, east into the desert, and back to the shrines of the Companions near the capital.
Its centrepiece is the third day. In the morning you visit the Cave of the Seven Sleepers (Ashab al-Kahf) at Abu Alanda, linked to the story in Surah al-Kahf of the young believers who slept for 309 years. In the afternoon you stand at Mu’tah, where the battle of 629 CE was fought, at the shrines of the martyred commanders Zaid bin Harithah, Ja’far bin Abi Talib (al-Tayyar) and Abdullah bin Rawahah. The next day heads east to the Umayyad desert castles, including Qasr Amra, and the Blessed Tree, where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is said to have rested on his way to Syria.
The program also includes the Dead Sea, the shrines of Prophet Shu’ayb and Prophet Yusha’ (peace be upon them), and the shrines of Abu Ubaidah, Abd al-Rahman bin Awf and Bilal bin Rabah. Lunch is included every day, with breakfast and dinner as shown in the itinerary.
