This five-day Christian tour of Jordan suits pilgrims and families who want to see Jordan’s biblical sites and Petra without changing hotels. You arrive at Amman airport, stay all four nights in Amman and set out each morning on a different route: north to Jerash, Anjara and Umm Qais, south to Petra, and west to Madaba, Mount Nebo, the Baptism Site and the Dead Sea.
The difference from our four-day biblical program is a full day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans, which you reach on a day trip from Amman. If you would rather spend a night near Petra, our six-day biblical tour does exactly that.
Along the way you see the shrine of Our Lady of the Mountain, where tradition says Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary rested, the place on Mount Nebo where Moses viewed the Promised Land, and Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John baptised Jesus. On the final morning you visit Mukawir and the mosaics of Umm ar-Rasas before your flight.

Our representative meets you at Amman airport. Your first visit covers the old part of the city, the Roman Theatre and the Citadel, followed by free time downtown, then you check in for dinner and overnight.
Explore Jerash, ancient Gerasa: Hadrian's Arch, the Oval Plaza, the colonnaded street and the Temple of Artemis. Drive on to Anjara and the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain, built where a cave sheltered, according to tradition, Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary on their journeys; it is one of Jordan's official Christian pilgrimage sites. Then visit Umm Qais, ancient Gadara, a Decapolis city tied to the Gospel story of the healing of the demoniacs, with views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Travel south for a full day in Petra, the rose-red city of the Nabataeans and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A short horse ride takes you towards the Siq, which you walk to the Treasury before continuing past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs. Early morning and late afternoon bring the best light. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.
Start in Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics', with its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. From Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, look across the Jordan Valley towards Jericho and Jerusalem. At the Baptism Site, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, John the Baptist lived and baptised Jesus (John 1:28); it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Jordan's most important Christian pilgrimage places. Nearby stands the Hill of Elijah (Tell Mar Elias), traditionally linked to the prophet's ascent to heaven. End the day floating in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at more than 400 metres below sea level. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Visit Mukawir, the hilltop fortress of Machaerus where Herod Antipas imprisoned John the Baptist (Matthew 14:3–11), looking out over the Dead Sea. Continue to Umm ar-Rasas, ancient Kastron Mefa'a, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the mosaic floor of the Church of St. Stephen, and then transfer to Amman airport.
