If you have only four days in Jordan but want to see as much as possible, this Jordan highlights tour covers both ends of the country, from Jerash in the north to Aqaba on the Red Sea. Starting at Amman airport, it visits the Baptism Site and the Dead Sea on day one, Petra on day two, Aqaba, Madaba and Mount Nebo on day three, and Jerash, Anjara and Amman on the last day.
It suits travellers interested in Jordan’s Christian heritage as well as its famous landmarks: Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the Hill of Elijah, Madaba’s mosaic map, Mount Nebo and the pilgrimage church of Our Lady of the Mountain all sit on the same route as Petra and Roman Jerash.
You stay two nights in Amman and one in Aqaba, with breakfast and dinner as listed, and you have free time in Aqaba on the morning of day three for optional activities on the Red Sea.

Our representative meets you at Amman airport, and the touring starts straight away. Your first stop is Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the Baptism Site where John the Baptist lived and baptised Jesus (John 1:28). Listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, it is among the most important Christian pilgrimage places in Jordan. Close by is Tell Mar Elias, the Hill of Elijah, which tradition links to the prophet's ascent to heaven. Then go down to the Dead Sea, more than 400 metres below sea level and the lowest point on earth; its salty water keeps you afloat without effort, and its mineral-rich mud is well known. Drive up to Amman for dinner and the night. (Dinner)
Travel south for a full day in Petra, the rose-red Nabataean city and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After a short ride on horseback, walk through the Siq to the Treasury, then continue past the Street of Facades, the Theatre and the Royal Tombs. The best light falls in the early morning and late afternoon. In the evening, continue to Aqaba on the Red Sea for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Spend the morning in Aqaba, with a visit and free time for optional activities on the Red Sea such as snorkelling, diving or a glass-bottom boat trip. Then head north to Madaba, the 'City of Mosaics', to see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. At Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, the view opens over the Jordan Valley towards Jericho and Jerusalem. Continue to Amman for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Visit Jerash, ancient Gerasa, walking from Hadrian's Arch to the Oval Plaza, along the colonnaded street and up to the Temple of Artemis. In nearby Anjara, the Church of Our Lady of the Mountain stands at a cave where, according to tradition, Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary rested on their journeys; it is one of Jordan's official Christian pilgrimage sites. Back in Amman, a panoramic tour stops downtown in the old markets and gives you a view of the Roman Theatre. Then transfer to Amman airport for your departure. (Breakfast)
3 nights: 1 in Amman, 1 in Aqaba, then 1 more in Amman.
