3 Day Mount Nebo and Baptism Site Tour with Madaba

In Madaba, the "City of Mosaics", see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. Then climb Mount Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land, and look out over the Jordan Valley towards Jericho and Jerusalem. Visit the Baptism Site, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John the Baptist lived and baptised Jesus (John 1:28). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important places of Christian pilgrimage in Jordan. Nearby, visit the Hill of Elijah (Tell Mar Elias), traditionally linked to the prophet Elijah's ascent to heaven. Continue to the Dead Sea. At the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at more than 400 metres below sea level, the salty water lets you float with ease, and the mineral-rich mud is famous for its benefits. Visit Mukawir, the hilltop fortress of Machaerus where Herod Antipas imprisoned John the Baptist (Matthew 14:3–11), with views across the Dead Sea. Continue to Umm ar-Rasas, ancient Kastron Mefa'a, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for the mosaic floor of the Church of St. Stephen. Then transfer to Amman airport for your departure.
