This Diyarbakır and Mardin tour combines the walled city of Diyarbakır with Hasankeyf, Midyat and Mardin in three private, guided days. It starts in Diyarbakır and finishes in Mardin, covers around 720 km, and is arranged for the dates you choose; it can also be run in the opposite direction by swapping the days.
On the first day you begin at 09:00 in Diyarbakır, or we meet you at the airport. You visit the Grand Mosque, the house of the poet Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı and the Four-Legged Minaret, then Hasan Pasha Han and Sülüklü Han, where you can also start the day with breakfast if you prefer. After lunch come the Inner Castle, the Diyarbakır Museum and the city walls. In the afternoon you leave for Hasankeyf, crossing the Ten-Eyed Bridge on the Tigris, and spend time in Hasankeyf, a place of legends parts of which now lie under water, before driving to Mardin.
Day two follows the classic Midyat route: Dara with its necropolis, cisterns and dungeon, a break at Beyazsu, lunch in Midyat, Mor Gabriel Monastery, the Midyat Guest House from the Hercai series, Gelüşke Han, the Midyat caves and an hour in the bazaar.
On the third day you discover Mardin: Deyrulzafaran Monastery, Kasımiye Madrasa and an afternoon walk through the old town, its churches, mosques, madrasas, bazaars and vaulted abbara passages. The tour ends at about 19:00.
Regional transport, airport transfers and guiding are included; meals, accommodation and entrance fees are paid separately.
