What the two days look like

On the first morning your driver collects you from your Istanbul hotel at 6:30 and heads west, with the Sea of Marmara alongside for much of the drive. Lunch is taken around midday in Eceabat, a small harbour town on the peninsula. The afternoon is devoted to the battlefields: ANZAC Cove, the Lone Pine memorial, the Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial, surviving trench lines and the gun positions at Johnston’s Jolly. You then cross to Çanakkale, where your hotel is in the town centre and the evening is free.

The second day begins at 8:30 with the short journey to Troy. Your guide leads you through the remains labelled Troy I to Troy IX, including the Odeon, the Bouleuterion, houses from the very first city, a defensive wall some 3,700 years old and the sacrificial altars. Before leaving, you can climb inside the full-size wooden horse for photographs. The vehicle then takes you back to your hotel in Istanbul.

Your booking covers one night in a centrally located 3- or 4-star hotel with breakfast, lunch and entrance fees on the guided touring, the transfers in the itinerary, full travel insurance and domestic taxes. Your guide holds a licence from the Ministry of Tourism, and vegetarian meals can be arranged.
