About this tour

Short on time but hoping to pay your respects at Jordan’s Islamic shrines? This 2 day Jordan Islamic tour is built for Muslim travellers on a stopover or a short break, and it starts and ends at Amman airport. In just one night you visit the shrines of two prophets and one of the most honoured Companions, and you have time to float in the Dead Sea.

The first day takes you straight from the airport down to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, and then into the Jordan Valley to the shrine of Prophet Shu’ayb (peace be upon him). On the second morning you visit the shrine of Prophet Yusha’ bin Nun (peace be upon him), known in the Bible as Joshua, the close companion of Prophet Musa who led the Children of Israel after him. You then descend to the Jordan Valley again for the shrine of Abu Ubaidah Amer bin al-Jarrah, one of the ten Companions promised Paradise and a commander of the Rashidun army, before your transfer back to the airport.

Lunch is included on both days, with dinner on the first evening and breakfast on the second morning, so the whole visit runs smoothly from landing to departure. If you have more time, our three-, four- and seven-day Islamic programs add further shrines, Mu’tah and the Umayyad desert castles.

Itinerary

Our representative welcomes you at Amman airport, and you head straight down to the Dead Sea. At the lowest point on earth, the water is so salty that floating takes no effort at all. From the shore you continue into the Jordan Valley to visit the shrine of Prophet Shu'ayb (peace be upon him). In the evening you drive up to Amman for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit the shrine of Prophet Yusha' bin Nun (peace be upon him), who is Joshua in the Bible; he was a close companion of Prophet Musa and led the Children of Israel after him. The route then goes down into the Jordan Valley to the shrine of Abu Ubaidah Amer bin al-Jarrah, one of the ten Companions promised Paradise and a commander of the Rashidun army. After the visit you are transferred to Amman airport for your flight.

  • Sightseeing continues on Day 2 before the airport transfer.
