For pilgrims who want to give Jordan as much time as the Holy Land, this 11 day Holy Land and Jordan tour is the most balanced of our Tel Aviv departures. It begins at Tel Aviv airport and ends at the airport in Jordan, with four nights in Bethlehem, two nights in Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee and four nights in Amman.
The Holy Land days are compact: the Mount of Olives, Mount Zion and Ein Karem on one day; Hebron, King Solomon’s Pools, Shepherds’ Field and the Church of the Nativity on the next; then Jerusalem’s Old City with a communion service at the Garden Tomb, followed by Jericho. A coastal day through Jaffa, Caesarea and Mount Carmel ends in Cana and Tiberias, and a full Galilee day takes in Capernaum, a boat ride, the Baptism Site and Mount Tabor.
In Jordan you have three full touring days: Madaba and Mount Nebo with a swim in the Dead Sea from the Jordanian shore, Jerash, Our Lady of the Mountain and Umm Qais in the north, and an Amman city tour with Mukawir and Umm ar-Rasas. On the last morning, after breakfast, you transfer to the airport.

You arrive at Tel Aviv airport and transfer to your hotel in Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
Begin on the Mount of Olives at the Chapel of the Ascension and the Pater Noster, associated with Jesus teaching the Lord's Prayer, and take in the panorama of Jerusalem. The Palm Sunday road leads down to the Garden and Church of Gethsemane. On Mount Zion you visit the Upper Room and the Tomb of King David, and then St. Peter in Gallicantu, the House of Caiaphas. The day continues to Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist, for the Church of the Visitation, where Mary visited Zechariah's house, and Mary's Well. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
Travel to Hebron, where, subject to permission, you visit the Tombs of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, then stop at King Solomon's Pools. After lunch you see Shepherds' Field and the Church of the Nativity. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
Enter the Old City by the Dung Gate into the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall, then visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, St. Anne's Church and the Pool of Bethesda, and follow the Way of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. After lunch a communion service and prayer are held at the Garden Tomb. You then drive to Jericho, described as the oldest city in the world, to see the Mount of Temptation and the Sycamore Tree. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
Check out for a day on the coast. Jaffa, an ancient port 40 metres above the sea with some 7,500 years of settlement, is followed by a look at Tel Aviv. At Caesarea, the Roman capital founded by King Herod, you see the aqueducts. On Mount Carmel you visit the Muhraka, where Elijah faced the prophets of Baal, the Cave of Elijah and Stella Maris, and you finish at the Wedding Church in Cana of Galilee before checking in at Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
Around the lake you visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the Church of the Multiplication at Tabgha, the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter and Capernaum, the town of Jesus, and take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Next comes the Baptism Site on the Jordan River, where Jesus was baptised, then the Wedding Church and Mount Tabor, the Mount of Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
Check out and head south through the Jordan Valley, with a view of Mount Gilboa, where King Saul and his sons were killed. Our staff meet and assist you at the Jordan border, and you transfer to Amman for dinner and overnight.
Madaba, once a Moabite border town and later part of the Roman province of Arabia, is renowned for its mosaics. From Mount Nebo, where Prophet Musa (Moses) was shown the Promised Land, the view spans the Holy Land and the Jordan Valley. You then drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on dry land, where the very salty water keeps you afloat and the black mud is well known. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Jerash, north of Amman and inhabited since the Bronze Age, preserves the Greco-Roman city of Gerasa with Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Artemis and the oval colonnaded Forum. In Anjara, Our Lady of the Mountain is the cave where, according to tradition, Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary rested on a journey through the hills of Gilead; it became one of the five Jubilee pilgrimage sites of 2000. The day ends at Umm Qais, ancient Gadara of the Decapolis. Dinner and overnight in Amman.
Explore Amman's old quarter and the Roman Theatre, with free time downtown. Then drive to Mukawir (Machaerus), Herod Antipas' hilltop fortress above the Dead Sea, where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded (Matthew 14:3–11); on clear nights the lights of Jerusalem and Jericho can be seen from here. Umm ar-Rasas (Kastron Mefa'a), a UNESCO World Heritage site on the semi-arid steppe associated with biblical Mephaath, has Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic ruins and mosaics.
