Gallipoli and Troy Tour: Day 1

You will be picked up from your Istanbul hotel at 6:30 a.m. and driven down to the Gallipoli peninsula! From the luxury of the bus, take in the beauty of the Sea of Marmara. You’ll arrive at the picturesque beach town of Eceabat around 12:00 PM and stop for lunch. Your guide will take you up Gallipoli’s eerily gorgeous coast.

You’ll travel the now-deserted battlefields and trenches in the footsteps of the ANZAC and Ottoman forces, paying respects at the many memorials to all of the dead soldiers. You’ll learn about both sides’ successful and unsuccessful operations, as well as stories of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the bright young Colonel of the Ottoman forces. You will be driven to your hotel in Canakkale at the end of the tour, where you will have the remainder of the evening to shop and explore.

Gallipoli and Troy Tour: Day 2

At 8:30 a.m., you will be picked up from your accommodation and taken to the ancient city of Troy to begin your day. During the trip, you’ll see Troy IX, the Odeon, the Bouleuterion, the homes of Troy I, the 3,700-year-old city walls, sacrificial altars, and a life-size replica of the Trojan Horse, which you can enter and photograph. After the tour, you will be returned to your Istanbul hotel.
