As the temperature cooled, Arin Lake’s guests gradually left. In the spring and summer, the lake is home to dozens of bird species, particularly flamingos. Due to the freezing throughout the winter, Arin Lake, which hosts its final visitors before the snowstorm, transforms into a playground for the youngsters in the nearby villages. “The lake is a bird paradise. In summer, dozens of bird species, especially flamingos, come here through migration. In these months when the weather is cold, a small number of bird species, especially geese, stay here. In January, the lake is completely frozen and this time it becomes a fun and playground for young people,” said Derya elik, Member of the Van Lake Activists Association.
